Daughters, Such transactions ad illegal under Section 3
of Ordinance No 13 of 1929 unless proved beyond reasonable
doubt to be bona fide adoptions, Proceedings were not
taken under this Ordinance against girl's mother as 1t
was believed she regarded it as a bona fide adoption. under
Proceedings were not taken this Ordinance against man in
view of more serious charge. Girl removed by Secretary for
Chinese Affairs to Poleungkuk where she remains.
adoptions not compulsary (see paragraph No.3 of my
despatch of 29th April No.207 } despatol follows.
